Math Centers ELA Activities Spring Summer Fall Winter

ELA Centers (7 different activities in each month):

1. Read/Write the Room: Students search the classroom for words or phrases posted on the walls, read them, and then write them down on the worksheet.
2. Sentence Scrambles: Students are given jumbled sentences and rearrange the words to form sentences. Includes an editable option so you can change the words.
3. 2/3/4 Syllable Sort: Students classify words into groups based on the number of syllables (2, 3, or 4), helping them develop phonological awareness and vocabulary skills. Includes an editable option so you can change the words.
4. Word Building: Students use letter cards to make words, reinforcing spelling and phonics concepts. Includes an editable option so you can change the words.
5. Lower/Uppercase Matching: Students match lowercase letters with their corresponding uppercase counterparts, enhancing their knowledge of letter recognition and letter-case relationships.
6. ABC Order: Students arrange a list of words or cards in alphabetical order, strengthening their alphabetizing and organization skills. Includes an editable option so you can change the words.
7. Real/Nonsense Word Sort: Students categorize words as either real or nonsense (made-up) words, promoting phonemic awareness and decoding skills. Includes an editable option so you can change the words.

Math Centers (7 different activities in each month):

1. Greater/Less Than: Students compare numbers using greater/less than symbols. Play with a partner or draw cards independently to create an equation and use the correct inequality symbol. Includes an editable option so you can change the digits.
2. +1, -1, +10, -10: Students solve equations adding 1 and 10, subtracting 1 and 10, then write their answers directly on the cards. If desired, they can also record their responses on the provided recording printable page. Includes an editable option so you can change the digits.
3. Making Ten: Students use manipulatives to fill the ten frame and identify the other part of ten. They can record their answers on the provided recording sheet.
4. Part Part Whole: Students analyze the place value of each number to find the value of the tens and ones, then write directly on the cards using dry erase markers and record their answers as they explore the concept of place value. Includes an editable option so you can change the digits.
5. Ten Frames: Students can use manipulatives or dry erase markers to fill the ten frames and write the corresponding numbers. Includes an additional writing page for practicing number word writing.
6. Addition: Students can utilize manipulatives or dry erase markers to fill the ten frames and write the missing numbers, followed by crafting the corresponding equations on the provided recording sheet. Includes a blank option so you can change the digits.
7. Addition and Subtraction: Equipped with a visual counter, like holiday mini erasers or counting cubes, students can engage with these number lines by moving their counter forward or backward to find their answers. Place the counter on the initial number, and jump along the number line to find the answer. Includes an editable option so you can change the digits.
